Traditionally villages and towns celebrate with summer carnivals.
Images here a barrel organ used at the Windsor Carnival held on Bachelors Acre, a large open area located off Peascod Street, and found by using on of the alleyways. There is usually a Punch and Judy show at these fairs.
Here is a policeman in festive mood for the Old Windsor Carnival. The adjective gives some funny results such as Old Windsor Brownies. Brownies are little girls not just cakes if you're American.
So close to the countryside we have an agricultural show and  morris dancing.

Datchet, opposite Windsor Castle on the other bank of the Thames has its summer fair.
There is open air theatre under the chalk cliff by the Castle.
