Windsor is close to London. However it is a distinct town, not another suburb of London. Whichever way you enter the town you enter through fields.
Lots of good hotels at less than London prices.
In fact it is better to say in Windsor and visit London than the other way round.
Lots of good restaurants and a large Castle.
Worth more than a day trip.

Obviously I do not know what Windsor Hotels are like personally because I live here. That would be silly. Go and stay in a Windsor hotel instead of my nice warm bed. But I have booked for American friends. You contact Windsorsoup via Contact Form. I would go in, check out the rooms, prices, availablity etc.

Beautiful Georgian building with, just across the road the Long Walk up to the Castle. See Windsor soup tour. Says outskirts but only a few minutes walk to town

- Hotels, including the Oakley Court Hotel, The Castle Hotel, and Ye Harte and Garter.
Ye Harte & Garter Hotel
- Situated in the centre of town opposite the castle, includes 2 restaurants and a cafe/bar, caters for tours, business and private functions.
If it begins with a Ye is a bit dodgy sometimes.Ye Olde Tea Shoppe. No-one ever said that. It is because the symbol for th in Old English ( NOT OLDEEEEEE) looked like a Y. However looks fine from outside and you can say you stayed in the Garter Inn from the Merry Wives of Windsor.
